We both had a lovely sleep in this morning. Normally I'm up at 5am on a Monday, but today it was 9.30am. Thankfully when I woke up this morning I wasn't too sore from my fun run. I felt energised!
We both had breakfast - protein shake with banana and blueberries for me, and then headed off to the gym. It was hard for us to get a car park at the gym as the footy club at my gym is affiliated with had an open day. We had to park a couple of blocks away from the gym, which was annoying.
I was really looking forward to going to the gym today. Week 5 marks the beginning of Specificity. For the next four weeks the program requires us to train every body part once a week. The weights are also a lot heavier, so I was really excited about the challenge.
Today was quads and glutes. I was really excited about training my legs as I knew that it was time for me to start doing heavier leg squats. I'd been doing 25kgs in the light weights section of the gym (that is the heaviest barbell they have), but the weight wasn't much of a challenge for me. Today I went over to the heavy weights section of the gym and did squats with a barbell at 30kg. It was hard, but I loved every moment of it. My legs are becoming so strong.
The rest of my weights session comprised of more leg weights. My knee started to get a little sore, but that is understandable considering I did a run yesterday. There was also a lot of abs work in my workout too, which was good. I'm really trying to work hard to get a flatter stomach.
After gym B and I went to the supermarket to buy our weeks worth of food. I thought I would take a photo of our shopping to show you how healthy it was. Oh, and I wasn't tempted by any of that chocolate that was on sale either!

After we got home from the supermarket we had lunch. Today's lunch was an antipasto pita pocket. Delicious!!

The rest of the afternoon was spent cleaning our house. I think that was a workout in itself! We had kinda neglected our house over the past few weeks, so we had to spend a lot of time tidying, vacuuming, washing dishes, cleaning toilets and ironing. Our house is double storey, so I had to keep running up and down the stairs all of the time. Plus I have four, yes four, toilets to clean!!! I think I must have burnt over 500 calories cleaning today.

This evening B and I went over to his parents place for dinner. B's dad is moving to Brisbane for a year, so we had a family dinner with his parents, sister, her fiance and us. Dinner was barbequed meats (sausages, steak, chicken skewers and lamb chops), roasted potatoes and salad. I had a sausage and a piece of steak, along with some potatoes and salad. It meal was so yummy. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of my food. I haven't told B's family that I have a blog and I try not to draw too much attention to myself about my health and fitness journey.
B's dad's birthday is on Friday, so we had a fruit cake for dessert. And by fruit cake, I mean a big plate of fruit with a candle. It was a nice refreshing way end the night.
And to finish off this post, here is a picture of my cat Roxy. She isn't a very happy kitty at the moment as she isn't enjoying this warm weather very much. The cool change is supposed to be coming on Wednesday. Thank goodness for that!! I might be able to get a good run in over the weekend.
