Reflections of the Year 2012

With the year 2012 being in its last few hours, I thought I would reflect on the year 2012.  It has been one of the biggest and best years of my life so far and I would have to say that I have been extremely happy with it

The Perfect Start of the Year!

B and I actually had the best stat to the year by doing some exercise.  We had spend New Years Eve at a friends place eating, drinking, watching the fire works and just having heaps of fun.  We were going to stay the night, but another friend got a taxi at 3am and said they could drop us home, so we went home.  We got up the next day and we didn't have a hangover, so we were feeling good.  We then decided that rather than driving to get B's car we would walk to our friends house.  We walked 11km in 40 degree heat, but it was a fantastic start to the year as we felt so fit!  Thankfully we didn't get sunburnt or dehydrated!

B and I Got Married!!

The biggest moment by far was B and I getting married on Saturday 31st of March.  After 7 and a half years together I was finally able to marry the man of my dreams, the person who makes me happy and makes my life complete.  The day was absolutely perfect and nothing went wrong.  It was also lovely to share the day with all of our friends and family.

Bridal Party!

My Hen's Night!

My Hen's Night made me realise how awesome my bridesmaids were!  They booked a serviced apartment in the city for us to stay in (and it was a nice one too), with champagne, balloons and cupcakes on arrival.  We went out for Thai for dinner, then out for cocktails.  At the cocktail bar we played games and everyone got a little party bag.  We then we to a club and danced the night away to 80s and 90s music.  I had a ball and I'm pretty certain that everyone else did.  My bridesmaids organised the whole thing via email as one of my bridesmaids was living in the US at the time.  They did a brilliant job!

Our Honeymoon!

B and I got to go to one of the most beautiful places on earth for our honeymoon - Maui!  Maui is one of the islands of Hawaii and it is simply fantastic!  There are beaches, forests, lovely places to eat, good shopping and so much to do.  B has decided that he wants to retire there when we are old.

The view from our hotel room!

12 Week Body Transformation

The 12WBT played a big part in the second half of the year.  I finally found something that would give me the results I wanted.  I wanted to lose weight and I wanted someone to tell me exactly what I needed to do.  Exactly what I needed to eat, including the recipes that I needed to cook.  I also needed someone to tell what exercise I needed to do.

My Weight Loss

I am so proud of how much weight I have lost this year.  I have lost around 8kg!  When I step on the scales in the morning, my weight is down into the figures that I have never been able to achieve before.  Weight Watchers and Light n'Easy never got my weight this low before.  I am one very happy lady right now!

Woohoo!!  Look at me!!!!

Work

At the end of 2011 I got a promotion at work.  I actually was aiming to get it in 2012, but it came a year early to me.  That means that my job has been a little different this year to last year, but I have enjoyed every moment of it, including the new responsibilities and the challenges that this position gives me.

My Friends

I might have lost a friend or two over the year, but I have gained a heap of new friends.  I have made lots of friends through the 12WBT from all of our Super Saturday Sessions together, plus the dinners, coffees and of course going to Sydney together.  I am very thankful to have these new friends in my life as they have given me a lot of support.

We so rocked the 12WBT Finale!

I have also made a couple of new work friends, which is fantastic!!

Yeah, that was the best photo I could find

And of course there are my friends who have been around for a long time.  We don't catch up as often as I would like, but when we do catch up its always a lot of fun.

Best New Years photo ever!!!

My Family

My family are the best and they always offer me so much support and encouragement.  My mum is fantastic and she will always come and see me when I need her, which I appreciate.  My dad is also the best.  Whilst he might not be the most affectionate person, he has been really good to me over the year.  He even came and fixed my car when it broke down earlier in the year.

My little family

My Extended Family

My family has increased considerably in size this year.  Last year it really was just me, my mum and dad, but now I have a husband, mother in-law, father in-law, sister in-law, plus all of B's grandparents, great aunts, uncles, aunts, cousins.... the list goes on.  Everyone in B's family has made me feel welcome and it is so nice to have a large family now.

My new in-laws!

My Trip To Sydney

My first holiday without B or my parents!  I had heaps of fun climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge with my fellow 12WBTer Raelene.  I also enjoyed the 12WBT workout and finale with Raelene, Tania and Katie.  That was a good fun weekend that I will always remember.

Me nearly at the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge!

The year 2012 has been very kind to me, however I know that 2013 is going to be even better!!

Happy New Year everyone!!!
